Residents in New York will now understand why electronic cigarettes are a better option than traditional cigarettes. Besides the fact that electronic cigarettes are a healthier option that has helped thousands quit smoking, they can also help smokers save money. Starting July 1st New Yorkers will have to pay an additional $1.60 in taxes per pack of cigarettes. This tax will bring the average cost of a pack of cigarettes to almost $11. According to a recent npr.org article, the state has imposed this tax to help close the gap on their budget deficit. New York already has the highest cost of cigarettes in the country.

Electronic cigarettes are 75% cheaper than regular cigarettes, and even cheaper when you figure the $11 per pack for New Yorkers. You can learn more about each electronic cigarette brand by reading our electronic cigarette reviews.
